Alfred Jodl
Alfred Jodl was a High Commander in Chief for the German Army. He was born on May 10, 1890 in Wurzburg, Germany. Since Jodl had a lot of power in Germany he gave orders for the German Army’s campaign against Holland, Norway, Belgium, and Poland. He even planed attacks against Yugoslavia and Greece. But despite what he was planed and done, he strongly disagreed with a lot of Hitler’s harsh orders. But in the Nuremburg Trials he was hanged on October 16, 1946 and charged with all four counts. But he was later exonerated, meaning that the court knew they made a oops and punished him way too harsh. Alfred Jodl was 56 years old when he was hung.

Me: Hello ladies and gentlemen. I’m here with Alfred Jodl, the High Commander in Chief of the Germany Army. This will be his last interview. Mr. Jodl was just tried in the Nuremburg Trials. How are you doing Mr. Jodl?
Jodl: Not good Morgan. Not good.
Me: I understand that you where just tried in the Nuremburg Trials. How do you feel about the whole ideal?
Jodl: I served for my country and did what I was ordered.
Me: I see. Now what where you convicted of Jodl?
Jodl: Participation in a common planning for the accomplishment of crime against peace. Planning, initating, and waging wars of aggression and other crimes against peace. War crimes. And crimes against humanity.
Me: Wow that’s a mouth full. Do you think the jury’s sentence was fair?
Jodl: No, I served my country and did what I was told. Why should I be killed for following orders?
Me: I see where you are coming from. How do you feel about Hilter?
Jodl: I strongly disagree with him to say the least. I did what I was told but I do believe he was wrong a lot of the time. If I would have said this 5 years ago I would be dead but now I could care less.
Me: Interesting. Didn’t you sign the unconditional surrender of Germany on May 7, 1945 to end the war in Europe?
Jodl: Yes I did. Hitler committed suicide and the Nazi Party was spiraling down hill and we were losing control. It was the only thing left to do.
Me: I see. Well thank you for sharing this information. This will be your last interview so do you have any last words?
Jodl: All Hail Germany!!!!!!
Me: Ok… I’m Morgan Darmer signing off. Thank you
